The Fenland on Film logo takes significant inspiration from the Fenland Flag and it’s a design we feel represents The Fens perfectly.
The flag primarily features a heraldic tiger which is representative of the ‘Fen Tiger’ – a term coined by the Dutch in the 1600s for those who wished to prevent draining of the land.
In recent times however, the term has been adopted by those who are more or less self-sufficient around these parts and therefore accustomed with the ‘old country ways’.
The fields of yellow and blue represent agricultural prosperity and the region’s natural / man-made waterways respectively.

We couldn’t think of a more appropriate symbol, as equally relevant today as it would’ve been hundreds of years ago, to represent our project which is not only about preserving our heritage but about documenting our community today and demonstrating how closely the past and present are intertwined.
Please support Fenland Flag in their bid to gain national recognition by liking and sharing their social media presence. They also have an online shop where a variety of products can be purchased.
