The 47th Haddenham Steam Rally was the focus of our first film of 2022 and it was only the second time using the Krasnogorsk-3.

A bygone age of engineering and ingenuity, the film romantically captures the nostalgia and atmosphere of the day.

Returning to the rally for it’s 2nd day, we switched to Super 8 and undertook filming in Black & White as a mark of respect following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Once again capturing the nostalgia and atmosphere of the day but with the good fortune to be in the right place at the right time as various scenes unfolded.

Ely Cathedral was host to a large number of the local community who wished to come together in this holy and sacred place to witness the funeral service of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as it was livestreamed inside.

Once the service had ended, we were shown the Octagon Tower and continued filming looking over the Fens until the reel was fully exposed.

A very short amount of film was taken of the festivities for March’s Christmas Lights Switch On event.

Unfortunately there wasn’t enough ambient light to expose the film adequately in order to show the crowd in more detail.

The Wash at Upware froze over following a prolonged period of sub-zero temperatures in the Fens – it was subsequently enjoyed by a small number of Fen Skaters.

It’s a very intimate and tranquil film that captures a Fenland pastime as enjoyed in the modern day by a handful of local people.
